United's De Rosario named MLS Player of the Month

D.C. United midfielder Dwayne De Rosario had five goals and an assist last month and was named Major League Soccer's Player of the Month for August on Thursday.

De Rosario is the first United player to win the award since Luciano Emilio achieved the honor in June 2008. He was also the first player in D.C. United history to win two consecutive MLS Player of the Week awards last month.
