Manchester, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Manchester United churned out a vintage comeback at Old Trafford on Saturday to get a 3-2 victory over Stoke City.
The Potters held a one-goal lead into the final 15 minutes, but Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez scored in quick succession to grant the Red Devils all three points and bring their total tally to 14 through David Moyes' first nine league games at the helm.
Stoke City has lost four of its last five Premier League contests, leaving the club on eight points.
It was a dreadful start to the match for United as Stoke opened the scoring just four minutes into the contest. Peter Crouch got on the end of a cross but was denied by David De Gea, though the lanky English striker stuffed home the rebound for his first goal of the campaign.
United equalized in the 43rd minute when Robin van Persie turned in a rebound conceded by Asmir Begovic, but Stoke restored its one-goal edge before the halftime interval thanks to Marko Arnautovic's fantastic free kick.
The Red Devils pushed for a way back into the game and saw the fruits of their labor in the 78th minute when Rooney nodded a corner kick just inside Begovic's far post.
United capitalized on the momentum by grabbing the go-ahead goal within two minutes of Rooney's equalizer as Hernandez headed home a brilliant cross from Patrice Evra.
Arsenal 2, Crystal Palace 0
London, England - Arsenal maintained its position at the top of the Premier League table by earning a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
After a scoreless opening period, Mikel Arteta got the Gunners off the mark in the 47th minute by converting a penalty. The Spaniard was sent off in the 65th minute, but it made no difference for the visitors as Olivier Giroud doubled Arsenal's advantage three minutes from time to seal the victory.
The Gunners improve to 22 points on the season while Palace remains second from bottom on three points.
Everton 2, Aston Villa 0
Birmingham, England - Everton netted two second-half goals to claim maximum points at Villa Park with a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa on Saturday.
Goalkeepers reigned supreme in the opening period as Tim Howard denied Christian Benteke from the spot in the eighth minute while Brad Guzan answered with a string of fine saves in the Villa net.
But Everton would make Benteke pay for his crucial miss as Romelu Lukaku and Leon Osman scored in the 67th and 81st minutes, respectively, to lift the Toffees to 18 points.
Liverpool 4, West Bromwich 1
Liverpool, England - Luis Suarez produced a hat trick at Anfield on Saturday to lead Liverpool to a 4-1 rout of West Bromwich Albion.
The Uruguayan opened the scoring with a cool finish in the 12th minute and doubled Liverpool's advantage four minutes later with a powerful header. His 55th minute strike was canceled out by James Morrison's penalty 10 minutes later, but Daniel Sturridge managed to restore the club's three-goal margin with a spectacular effort in the 77th minute.
The win sees Liverpool maintain its second-place position as the club improves to 20 points to remain two points back of Arsenal. West Brom, winless in three, stays on 10 points.
Southampton 2, Fulham 0
Southampton, England - Rickie Lambert scored one goal and set up another to lead Southampton to a 2-0 victory over Fulham at St. Mary's on Saturday.
Lambert opened the scoring in the 20th minute by getting on the end of flick to the back post and nodding home from close range, then helped the Saints double their advantage by delivering an inch-perfect ball for Jay Rodriguez to meet with a powerful header.
Southampton moves up to third place by improving to 18 points while Fulham remains on 10 points.
Norwich City 0, Cardiff City 0
Norwich, England - There was nothing between Norwich City and Cardiff City on Saturday as the two sides played to a 0-0 draw.
Cardiff climbs to nine points on the season, keeping the Welsh club one point ahead of Norwich.
