UCLA cornerback Adams suspended indefinitely after arrest

UCLA head coach Jim Mora said cornerback Ishmael Adams was suspended indefinitely two days after being arrested on suspicion of robbery.

Adams, who was named to the All-Pac-12 first team in 2014, is being held on $100,000 bail.

Adams started all 26 games for the Bruins over the previous two seasons, returning two interceptions for touchdowns last year.

"We are aware of the situation and continuing to gather information," UCLA football spokesman Josh Rupprecht said in a statement Monday. "As this is a pending legal matter, we will have no further comment at this time."

Adams was one of the nation's top cornerback recruits when he arrived in Westwood in 2012. He is the son of Stefon Adams, who played five NFL seasons from 1986 to 1990 as a defensive back for the Los Angeles Raiders, Cleveland and Miami.
