Tyler Johnson scores 17, grabs 10 rebounds as Fresno State beats Nevada 75-67
RENO, Nev. – Tyler Johnson scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Cezar Guerrero made 6 of 6 free throws in the final 1:06 to lead Fresno State past Nevada 75-67 Wednesday night.
Deonte Burton hit a 3-pointer to tie the game at 57 with 8:09 to play but the Wolf Pack (12-13, 7-5 Mountain West) would score just three points — and wouldn't make a field goal — for the next 6:49.
Paul Watson hit a 3 with 1:39 left to extend the Fresno State (12-13, 5-7) lead to 68-60. Jerry Evans Jr. sandwiched a jumper and a trey around Guerrero's first two free throws to pull Nevada within 70-65 with 58 seconds remaining, but would get no closer.
Burton, who made just 3 of 10 free throws, and Evans finished with 14 points apiece.
Watson scored 15 while Guerrero added 12. Marvelle Harris finished with 13 points and 10 boards.
