Ed Orgeron promised fun when he replaced Lane Kiffin, and that's what Southern California got in the interim coach's first practice.
Orgeron led the Trojans on Wednesday through their first practice since Kiffin was fired at the start of their off week.
The Trojans were in high spirits, competing in 1-on-1 drills and team exercises to the accompaniment of Orgeron's booming Cajun drawl.
Orgeron says he's excited about his shot to get more out of the Trojans (3-2, 0-2 Pac-12), who were blown out by Arizona State last weekend in their latest unimpressive performance.
The Trojans seemed excited about the change from the taciturn Kiffin to Orgeron, the exuberant defensive line coach. Quarterback Cody Kessler says Orgeron runs lively workouts and gets players excited about their sport.
