New Chicago Bears coach Marc Trestman was trying to learn all he could about quarterback Jay Cutler in the early going.
Why not ask Mike Shanahan? Trestman had a chance at the NFL combine and took advantage.
Now, Cutler's having his best season in years, and the Bears are tied for the NFC North lead heading into Sunday's game against Shanahan's Washington Redskins.
A big question coming into the season was whether Trestman would be able to connect with his quarterback. It turns out the coach had a few questions of his own, so when he had a chance to talk to Shanahan, Cutler's coach in Denver, he didn't let it slip.
Trestman says Shanahan made it clear he would enjoy coaching Cutler.
