Mikel Trapp scored 26 points and Bethune-Cookman pulled away from Trinity (Fla.) College in the second half for a 91-69 win on Saturday.

The Tigers (3-5) managed to battle to a 43-43 tie in the first half, shooting 54 percent but the Wildcats (1-0), who shot 29.6 percent in the opening half, went 19 of 32 in the second (59.4 percent) to pull away.

Clemmye Owens came off the bench to score 19 points for Bethune-Cookman, Jeffon Powell and Ricky Johnson both had 12 points, Quentin Brewer had 12 rebounds and Tony Kynard had seven assists.

Kevin Brown had 24 points for Trinity, which was out-rebounded 43-20. Rajiv Prabhakar added 14 points and Jerome Harris 12. The Tigers shot 37.5 percent in the second half.
