Townsend signs new Tottenham deal

London, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Tottenham announced on Friday that winger Andros Townsend has signed a four-year contract extension with the club.

Townsend is coming off of two excellent performances for England in World Cup qualifying, scoring on his full debut against Montenegro last Friday before turning in another strong outing in a win over Poland.

The 22-year-old has also established himself as a key figure for Tottenham, starting six of the team's seven games in league play this term.

Tottenham enters the weekend in sixth place and will visit Aston Villa on Sunday.
