London, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Fernando Torres enjoyed a renaissance performance at Stamford Bridge on Sunday as Chelsea claimed a dramatic 2-1 win over Manchester City.

The Spaniard has found life at Stamford Bridge to be quite difficult, but he sparked the Blues to all three points on Sunday by setting up Andre Schurrle for the opening goal before striking at the death for the winner.

The win brings Chelsea to 20 points on the season to help the club reclaim second place in the top flight where it sits two points back of first-place Arsenal.

Torres missed a tremendous scoring opportunity in the 28th minute, but he made amends five minutes later by creating space on the right flank to center a pass for Schurrle, who tucked home the finish from close range.

The Spain international continued to terrorize the City defense and nearly doubled Chelsea's advantage in the 37th minute only to see his curling shot rattled the crossbar.

City managed to draw level in the 49th minute when Sergio Aguero latched on to Samir Nasri's through ball and hammered a powerful shot past Petr Cech at the near post, but a defensive miscue between Pablo Zabaleta and Joe Hart in the 90th minute allowed Torres to get through on goal and slot the ball into the empty net for the winner.

But Fabio Borini, who is on loan at Sunderland from Liverpool, ensured a dramatic finish by netting the game-winner six minutes from time, bringing the Black Cats out of the cellar and up to four points on the season.

Tottenham improves to 19 points to climb up to fourth place in the top flight while Hull City remains on 11 points.
