CHICAGO (Reuters) - Topps, a maker of sports trading cards, on Thursday said it had signed a multiyear licensing agreement with the National Football League and its players' union, allowing the company to continue selling cards with the U.S. sports league's players.
Terms of the deal with the NFL and the NFL Players Association were not disclosed.
Topps, which has been selling NFL cards for more than 50 years, said it will introduce its 2010 NFL cards just prior to the start of the new season.
In addition to its deal with the NFL, Topps also makes cards with athletes from Major League Baseball, UFC mixed martial arts fighting and WWE wrestling. Its also owns the Bazooka bubble gum brand and other candies.
