STORRS, Conn. – No. 1 Connecticut plays its second game in a week against a top-five opponent when the Huskies host No. 5 Notre Dame on Saturday.
The Irish (11-1) have won four of the last five meetings between the two teams, and have knocked the Huskies (12-0) out of the Final Four in each of the past two seasons.
But UConn is coming off two big wins on the West Coast including a 61-35 win over then No. 1 Stanford last Saturday, a win that propelled the Huskies to the top of the polls.
Connecticut has won its five games this year over ranked opponents by an average of more than 24 points.
Notre Dame's only loss this season came against No. 2 Baylor, 73-61, on Dec. 5.
