LOS ANGELES (AP) Hall of Fame manager Tom Lasorda, who guided the Los Angeles Dodgers to their last World Series title in 1988, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Game 2 of the NL Division Series.

Lasorda will take the mound Saturday night before the Dodgers play the New York Mets.

He currently serves as special adviser to team chairman and co-owner Mark Walter and is in his 66th season with the franchise.

Lasorda, who turned 88 last month, managed the Dodgers from 1976-96 before retiring to the front office. During his tenure, the team won two World Series titles, four National League pennants and eight division titles. Lasorda managed the U.S. baseball team to a gold medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

Ella Mason Annear, a 4-year-old who successfully overcame cancer in the last two years and is the daughter of the team's vice president of merchandising and retail, will throw out the first pitch before Game 1 Friday.
