Injuries to Tennessee Titans cornerbacks Perrish Cox and Jason McCourty forced rookie Cody Riggs into action during last Sunday's loss to the Atlanta Falcons and the undrafted rookie responded. Just like he knew he would.
Riggs played 16 snaps against the Falcons, including a third-down breakup on a pass intended for Atlanta star receiver Julio Jones.
"I am not intimidated by anybody. Whoever is out there I'll do my best to cover,'' Riggs said, per the team's official website. "I feel like I have always been a confident player. I have never been scared of any competition, or going against anybody."
Cox and McCourty both hope to be back in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans. If not, Riggs, the son of former Pro Bowl running back Gerald Riggs, said he's up for the challenge once again.
"I am just here to try and help us win games. I am ready to play on special teams and if they need me on defense I'll be ready,'' Rigs said. "No matter what the situation is, I'll be ready for it."
