Titans place center Brian Schwenke on injured reserve, release veteran LB Shaun Phillips

The Tennessee Titans have placed center Brian Schwenke on injured reserve and released veteran linebacker Shaun Phillips in a flurry of moves.

The Titans announced the moves Tuesday.

Schwenke hurt his left knee in Sunday's 43-24 loss at Philadelphia and had an MRI exam Monday. The Titans replaced the second-year center by agreeing to terms with offensive lineman Eric Olsen who Tennessee cut at the end of training camp. The 6-foot-3 Olsen and has played 18 games in five seasons with Denver, New Orleans and Pittsburgh.

The Titans cut their losses after signing Phillips in March to a two-year contract. He had only two sacks and 28 tackles in 11 games. The Titans promoted linebacker Dontay Moch off the practice squad.
