The Detroit Tigers have placed reliever Octavio Dotel on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with right elbow inflammation.
The move is retroactive to April 20.
The 39-year-old right-hander has compiled a 13.50 earned run average in six appearances this season. He last pitched in an April 19 loss to the Angels and allowed five runs in two-thirds of an inning.
Detroit recalled pitcher Bruce Rondon from Triple-A Toledo to fill the vacant roster spot.
