Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Houston Texans have waived rookie running back Cierre Wood and rookie linebackers Sam Montgomery and Willie Jefferson for violating team rules.

According to the Houston Chronicle, Wood and Jefferson were smoking a cigar in a Kansas City hotel room prior to Sunday's 17-16 loss to the Chiefs. Montgomery joined them and all three were later dismissed from the team.

They were all inactive for Sunday's game.

Wood, undrafted out of Notre Dame, has rushed for nine yards on three carries this season. Jefferson, also undrafted out of Stephen F. Austin, has two tackles in six games and Montgomery, a former All-American at LSU, has not dressed for a game despite going to Houston in the third round of the 2013 draft.

Only DeAndre Hopkins, D.J. Swearinger and Ryan Griffin remain on the active roster from this year's draft class.
