NEW YORK (AP) — Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira has left New York's game against the Baltimore Orioles after three innings because of a bruised left foot.

The Yankees say X-rays are negative and he is day to day.

Teixeira was injured when he hit a foul ball off the foot during his at-bat in the first inning before he tapped out to the pitcher. He stayed in the game until Juan Miranda took over at first base in the fourth.

"I fully expect to be in there tomorrow," Teixeira said after the game Tuesday.
