Strong second half sees Dundee United top St Mirren

Dundee, Scotland (SportsNetwork.com) - Dundee United netted three unanswered second-half goals on Saturday en route to a 3-2 victory over St Mirren at Tannadice Park.

St Mirren got off to a flying start as Paul McGowan opened the scoring 20 minutes in and Steven Thompson added a second goal five minutes before the break for a 2-0 lead at the intermission.

But St Mirren appeared to come unglued in the second 45 minutes as Dundee United began the comeback with 11 minutes to play through a goal from Brian Graham and Stuart Armstrong found an equalizer six minutes from time.

Nadir Ciftci then dealt the knockout blow for Dundee United as he bagged the winner in the third minute of stoppage time to help the hosts claim all three points.

Also in Scotland on Saturday, Chris Erskene, Lee Mair and Kallum Higginbotham all scored for Partick Thistle in a 3-1 result over Hibernian at Firhill Stadium.

Finally in Scotland on Saturday, De Leeuw's 29th-minute goal held up as the winner in a 1-0 victory for Ross County over St Johnstone.
