Strasburg, Harper have surgery

Washington Nationals right-hander Stephen Strasburg, outfielder Bryce Harper and first baseman Adam LaRoche all are recovering from postseason surgery, reports.

All three players are expected to be ready for spring training.

Strasburg had an arthroscopic procedure to remove bone chips from his pitching elbow. Although it is considered "clean-up" surgery, it is the same elbow on which Strasburg had Tommy John surgery in the fall of 2010. MASN reports Strasburg will begin a throwing program in 4-6 weeks.

Harper had a procedure to "debride and repair" the bursa in his left knee, which bothered him for much of the season. Harper will begin workouts in 4-6 weeks.

LaRoche had loose bodies removed from his left elbow and also will resume workouts in 4-6 weeks, according to MASN.
