London, England – Pau Gasol recorded a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds, as Spain beat China by a 97-81 margin in the men's basketball tournament.
Serge Ibaka and Juan Carlos Navarro added 17 and 14 points, respectively, for Spain, which lost to the United States in the gold medal game four years ago.
Yi Jianlian ended with 30 points and 12 boards for China.
Spain, the two-time European champions, held a 19-17 lead after the first quarter. However, they outscored China by a 34-24 margin in the second period and cruised to victory from there.
