Coach Bruce Arians is mulling holding out wideout John Brown in Week 8. Mark J. Rebilas USA TODAY Sports
The Arizona Cardinals are mulling whether to hold wide receiver John Brown out of Sunday's game at the Cleveland Browns.
Brown was among six players who missed practice Wednesday as he continues to battle a sore hamstring that had his availability in question for Monday night's matchup against the Baltimore Ravens.
"We're trying to get him well instead of aggravating him," Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said of Brown, who wound up with four receptions for 65 yards and a touchdown in the 26-18 victory over the Ravens.
Brown said after Monday's game that he had to send out an SOS to his trainer in Miami to fly to Arizona and work on the ailing hamstring, which allowed him to play at "not 100 percent, but I made it through to help my brothers out."
The second-year speedster is second on the team with 37 receptions for 562 yards. Brown was unstoppable in a Week 6 loss at Pittsburgh, hauling in 10 catches for 196 yards - both career highs.
