An MRI performed on San Antonio Silver Stars guard Becky Hammon's left knee has revealed a season-ending ACL tear, the team confirmed on Monday.
Hammon sustained the injury during the second quarter of the Silver Stars' 93-66 loss at Los Angeles on Saturday. The veteran point guard had just returned from a fractured middle finger that kept her out of the team's first 10 games of this season.
A seven-time WNBA All-Star, Hammon ranked second in the league with averages of 5.3 assists and 2.4 makes from 3-point range per game last season. The 36- year-old averaged 14.7 points for San Antonio as well in 2012.
