Manchester City announced on Monday that the club has signed midfielder David Silva to a new five-year contract, which runs until the summer of 2017.
Silva made the move to City from Valencia in 2010 and helped the club capture its first league title since 1968 last season, when he scored six goals and assisted on 15 more in 36 Premiership appearances.
"I'm very pleased because I've been here for two years now and I feel very happy here at the club, in the city and with all the people. So now I'm delighted to be extending my contract and being here really does feel just like home for me," Silva told Manchester City's website.
The 26-year-old has taken part in all four of City's league matches this season, and he joins goalkeeper Joe Hart and captain Vincent Kompany as players who have recently signed long-term contracts with the club.
