Milwaukee, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Scooter Gennett was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday with a lacerated finger.
Gennett suffered a cut at the base of his middle finger on his left hand in the shower following the Brewers' 5-2 loss at Pittsburgh on Sunday. He needed five stitches to close the wound.
In 10 games this season, Gennett is hitting .202 with one RBI and two runs scored for the Brewers, who selected the contract of infielder Elian Herrera from Triple-A Colorado Springs.
To make room for Herrera on the 40-man roster, the Brewers designated pitcher Brandon Kintzler for assignment.
