Seville, Spain (SportsNetwork.com) - Sevilla midfielder Sebastian Cristoforo is set to spend the next six months out of action after suffering a torn ACL in his team's 4-1 win over Valladolid on Sunday.
The 20-year-old joined Sevilla from Uruguayan side Penarol last summer, and he has made 12 appearances in La Liga in his first season with the team.
But the injury will now keep him out for the remainder of the current campaign as Sevilla sits in seventh place in the league table and is attempting to secure a place in European competition next season.
"The estimated period he will be out is six months after he undergoes his operation, the date of which has yet to be determined," read a statement from the club.
