Seville, Spain (SportsNetwork.com) - Sevilla has been dealt a blow by the news that goalkeeper Beto will miss the next three months after suffering a shoulder injury in his team's 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid on Wednesday.
Beto was involved in a collision with Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema in the first half of the match and he needed to be treated on the field before being taken off on a stretcher.
The 32-year-old has started 18 of Sevilla's 21 games in La Liga this season, but after dislocating his shoulder against Madrid, he will miss much of the rest of Sevilla's season with the club sitting one point ahead of fifth-place Valencia for the final Champions League spot.
Beto has been capped 10 times by Portugal's national team, and the injury also means that he will miss Sevilla's Europa League last 32 matchup with Monchengladbach.
