Schalke goalie Faehrmann suffers ankle injury

Gelsenkirchen, Germany – Schalke goalkeeper Ralf Faehrmann 1 loss to Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga, and could miss upcoming matches against Steaua Bucharest and Bayern Munich.

Schalke, a semifinalist in the Champions League last season, plays Romania's Steaua Bucharest on Thursday in the Europa League and Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga on Sunday.

Although he has yet to be ruled out of either match, Schalke might have to use either Lars Unnerstall or Mathias Schober. Schalke sold former goalie Manuel Neuer to Bayern Munich in the offseason.
