Columbia, SC (SportsNetwork.com) - Tiffany Mitchell scored a career-high 25 points and No. 4 South Carolina clinched the outright SEC title with a 67-56 win over Georgia on Thursday.
Alaina Coates added 18 points for the Gamecocks (26-2, 14-1 SEC), who won their 10th straight game overall and polished off a perfect season at home.
The Gamecocks went undefeated (16-0) for the first time at Colonial Life Arena, which opened in 2002. It's their second undefeated home season overall after an 11-0 mark in 1978-79.
They won their sixth regular-season conference title, but first in the SEC.
The Gamecocks will finish the regular season Sunday at Tennessee.
Erika Ford had 17 points and Barbee Shacobia scored 14 to lead Georgia (18-10, 6-9 SEC), which has lost two straight. The Lady Bulldogs play Mississippi State on Sunday.
