Curitiba, Brazil – Santos is still looking for its first win of the Brasileiro season as it was held to a 2-2 draw with Coritiba at the Couto Pereira on Sunday.
The famed Brazilian club relinquished the lead on two occasions en route to its fourth draw of the season as it sits fourth from bottom on four points.
Edu Dracena opened the scoring for the visitors in the 32nd minute, but Coritiba was able to draw level five minutes after halftime thanks to Rafinha.
Neymar thought he had given Santos all three points when he scored 19 minutes from time, but Lincoln converted a penalty kick three minutes later to spoil the party and see the two sides split the points.
Coritiba improves to seven points on the season, good enough for 11th in the table.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Fluminense eased past last-place Goianiense with a 4-1 victory, Gremio earned a 2-0 win over Flamengo, Internacional moved three points shy of first place with a 2-0 win over Sport Recife, Corinthians topped Palmeiras in a 2-1 win, Figueirense played to a 1-1 draw with Bahia, and Ponte Preta claimed a 2-1 victory over Botafogo.
Saturday's action saw Cruzeiro clinch a crucial victory to retain first place with a 3-1 defeat of Vasco da Gama. Atletico Mineiro kept pace with Cruzeiro by edging Nautico in a 5-1 win, while Ivan handed Portuguesa a 1-0 win over Sao Paulo.
