Frisco, TX – The Southland Conference has imposed one-game suspensions for Sam Houston State linebacker Darius Taylor and Southeastern Louisiana defensive back Kevin Roberts for illegal hits in their teams' games Oct. 13.
Both players will be suspended for games on Saturday, Taylor during Sam Houston State's visit to Lamar and Roberts during Southeastern Louisiana's home game against Central Arkansas.
Following a conference review of the Oct. 13 games, Taylor and Roberts were suspended for targeting and initiating contact to the head or neck area of defenseless players.
NCAA rules require conferences to automatically review video of unnecessary roughness acts that target the head or neck to determine if additional sanctions are necessary, whether or not officials call a penalty at the time.
