DETROIT (AP) Tyler Saladino tripled with one out in the ninth inning off Neftali Feliz for the Chicago White Sox's first hit against the Detroit Tigers.

Daniel Norris was perfect for the first five innings Tuesday night and Buck Farmer had a 1-2-3 sixth. Ian Krol hit Adam Eaton with a pitch to open the seventh then retired the side to keep the no-hitter going. Drew VerHagen retired three straight in the eighth.

But Saladino drove a 1-1 pitch into left-center field off Feliz, who took over as closer after Bruce Rondon was sent home earlier Tuesday because of hit ''effort level.''

Norris, acquired in the trade that sent David Price to Toronto at the July 31 deadline, threw 63 pitches. He was making his second start after an oblique strain and was on a pitch count.

The Tigers and White Sox are tied 1-1.
