BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Sabres gritty forward Patrick Kaleta will not return after being shaken up by a hard hit in Game 3 of Buffalo's first-round playoff series against the Philadelphia Flyers.
The gritty forward sustained what the team called an upper-body injury 11 minutes into the first period. Kaleta was slow to get up after he collided with Flyers defenseman Braydon Coburn deep in the Philadelphia zone.
Kaleta was slow to get up and was doubled over in pain on his way to the bench. Coburn was penalized for interference.
The best-of-seven Eastern Conference series is tied at 1-1. Kaleta scored the lone goal in Buffalo's series opening 1-0 win Thursday.
