Sabres D Myers out 4-6 weeks with broken wrist
Buffalo, NY – Buffalo Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers had 6 weeks.
Myers was injured during the second period of Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Phoenix Coyotes.
Myers was a healthy scratch for the first time in his career last Monday in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Montreal Canadiens, but bounced back with a pair of goals in the Sabres' next game, a 5-3 defeat to the New Jersey Devils.
With goaltender Ryan Miller, defenseman Mike Weber and forwards Jochen Hecht, Tyler Ennis and Cody McCormick all out with various ailments, the Sabres' depth will surely be tested.
In 19 games this season, Myers has two goals and six points for the Sabres, who currently sit at the top of the Northeast Division with a 12-8-0 record.
Myers has played in 181 games over the past three seasons in Buffalo, racking up 23 goals and 91 points, and receiving the 2010 Calder Trophy for rookie of the year.
To replace Myers on the roster, defenseman T.J. Brennan was recalled from Rochester of the American Hockey League.
