Sergei Ovchinnikov , the coach of the Russian women's Olympic volleyball team, has died. He was 43.
The Russian Volleyball Federation says Ovchinnikov died Wednesday at the team's training base in Croatia.
Neither the federation nor Ovchinnikov's team, Dynamo, commented on the cause of his death.
Ovchinnikov led the Russian team, which was considered one of the main contenders for gold, to the quarterfinals at the London Olympics, where they lost to Brazil.
