While the Jaguars came up short in the team's 28-23 loss to the New York Jets on Sunday, it's hard to blame the team's run defense
Jacksonville held Jets running back Chris Ivory to 26 yards on 23 carries. According the team's official website notes, Elias Sports Bureau said Ivory's 26 yards were the fewest ever for a player with 23 or more carries.
Although Ivory scored a pair of one-yard touchdowns in short-yardage situations, the Jaguars were largely able to keep him in check. The six-year veteran ran for 166 yards in a win over the Dolphins earlier this season, followed by a 146-yard performance in a victory over Washington a week later.
"It wasn't anything magical. You just saw guys fit, fit, fit right into their gap," Jacksonville defensive tackle Roy Miller said. "It was like watching a dance from our perspective. We were doing everything that we wanted to in the run game."

The Jaguars improved to seventh in the league in run defense thanks to their work on Sunday. The team will hope for similar results against the Ravens this week.
