Ruangkit cruises to win in England

Woburn, England – Boonchu Ruangkit closed with a one-under 71 stroke win at the Travis Perkins plc Senior Masters.

Ruangkit, who won for the fifth time on the European Senior Tour, finished at nine-under-par 207.

The Thailand native had just two birdies and a lone bogey in his final round. After a birdie on the third, he dropped a shot on No. 4. Ruangkit parred nine straight holes from the fifth before posting his final birdie on the par-five 14th. He parred out to pick up the easy win.

Roger Chapman (70), Barry Lane (75) and Gordon Brand, Jr. (74) shared second place at minus-five. Lane was coming off a win at the Scottish Senior Open two weeks ago.

Sam Torrance closed with an even-par 72 and was joined in fifth place by Peter Fowler (73) and Gary Wolstenholme (70).
