Sam Rowley scored 20 points as Albany held off a second-half rally from Brown in a 74-68 victory on Tuesday night.

Albany (5-4) led 41-27 at half, before Brown went on a late 15-5 run to come within 62-59 with 2:28 left. But that was as close as the Bears would get, as Rowley sunk a pair of free throws to extend the lead and Brown never came closer than four points the rest of the way. Albany was 10 of 12 from the free throw line in the final 2 minutes to preserve the victory.

Brown (6-3) committed 32 fouls in the contest and Albany shot 76.1 percent (35 of 46) from the line. Rowley scored 12 of his 20 points from free throws.

Gary Johnson joined Rowley in double figures with a career-high 16 points.

Sean McGonagill scored a game-high 22 points for Brown.
