Florence, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - Juventus suffered its first loss of the Serie A season on Sunday as Giuseppe Rossi's hat trick helped Fiorentina earn a 4-2 win over the Old Lady at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
The visitors were two goals to the good by the halftime interval as Carlos Tevez and Paul Pogba scored a goal apiece in the span of three minutes. Tevez opened the scoring in the 37th minute by converting a penalty kick after he was fouled by Gonzalo Rodriguez in the box, and Pogba quickly doubled the advantage with a right-footed effort in the 40th minute.
But the second half belonged to Fiorentina as the home side bagged four goals in the span of 14 minutes with Rossi leading the way.
Fiorentina was awarded a penalty in the 66th minute when Kwadwo Asamoah whistled for an infraction on Matias Fernandez, allowing Rossi to convert the ensuing attempt.
The home side then netted three goals in quick succession, beginning with Rossi's equalizer off of a pass from Fernandez in the 76th minute. Joaquin notched the go-ahead goal two minutes later off of a pass from Borja Valero and Rossi wrapped up the affair with an insurance goal from a fast break in the 80th minute.
The result sees Juventus remain on 19 points to slip five points back of first-place Roma. Fiorentina, unbeaten in its last three league contests, climbs to 15 points on the season.
