Andrew Roque fired a nine-under 61 on Sunday to rally and win the Times Colonist Island Savings Open.
Roque, the first-round leader and Q School medalist, finished at 14-under-par 266 to win by three strokes at Uplands Golf Club.
Third-round leader Cory Renfrew posted a two-under 68 to share second place at minus-11. He was joined there by Lucas Lee (65).
Derek Gillespie ended alone in fourth at 10-under-par 270 after closing with a four-under 66. Scott Harrington (65) and Matt Jager (67) were three strokes back at minus-seven.
Roque birdied the second and third. He gave one stroke back with a bogey at the sixth, but atoned for that error with a birdie on No. 8.
The 23-year-old caught fire down the stretch. He chipped in for birdie on the 12th and followed with birdies on 13 and 14. At the 15th, Roque rolled in a 10-footer for his fourth straight birdie.
Roque was not finished. He also birdied the final three holes to make it seven consecutive birdies to close out his round.
NOTES: Roque earned $24,00 for the win in the tour's the first event of the season...In two weeks, the tour heads to Edmonton for the ATB Financial Classic, where Hugo Leon won last year.
