The New York Giants finally get their running game going against the Chicago Bears with Brandon Jacobs, and they head into this week with the possibility of having to start rookie Michael Cox at halfback.
Jacobs tweaked his left hamstring late in the 27-21 loss to the Bears last Thursday night, and his status for the Minnesota Vikings game next Monday night is uncertain.
Jacobs insists he will start for the Giants (0-6). Cox says he is ready. David Wilson and Da'Rel Scott are major question marks.
Wilson, who was the No. 1 back, was in California on Monday having a troublesome neck injury examined. Scott has a bad hamstring injury and appears to be out for Minnesota.
