Buenos Aires, Argentina (SportsNetwork.com) - Blaz Rola upset sixth seed Jiri Vesely in the first round of the Argentina Open on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old Slovenian beat Vesely 6-4, 6-3 to record just his second ATP World Tour win of the season.
Nicolas Almagro, who won here in 2011, outlasted fellow Spaniard and No. 7 seed Pablo Andujar 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.
Argentine left-hander Federico Delbonis reached the second round when his opponent, the eighth-seeded Pablo Carreno Busta, was forced to retire ill. Delbonis was leading 7-6 (7-2), 3-0.
Also on Day 2, Argentine Renzo Olivo outlasted Jarkko Nieminen 7-6 (7-3), 5-7, 6-0, Carlos Berlocq cruised past Diego Schwartzman 6-3, 6-3, Guido Andreozzi handled Andres Molteni 6-2, 6-2, Albert Ramos-Vinolas beat Horacio Zeballos 6-4, 6-1, Facundo Bagnis rallied past Marco Cecchinato, 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 and Facundo Arguello posted a 6-3, 6-2 win over Albert Montanes.
The 2015 Buenos Aires titlist will collect $91,050.
