Amsterdam, Netherlands (SportsNetwork.com) - Two goals apiece from Arjen Robben and Klaas Jan Huntelaar helped the Netherlands get its Euro 2016 qualifying campaign back on track on Sunday as the Dutch rolled to a 6-0 win over Latvia.
With two losses in their first three games, the Dutch dropped six points back of Group A leaders Iceland and Czech Republic.
But Robin van Persie helped the Oranje get off to a good start as he put the side in front after just six minutes.
Robben then hammered home a second goal with 10 minutes to play in the first half, while Huntelaar found the net from close range shortly before the break to put Guus Hiddink's side comfortably in front at halftime.
The Netherlands capped the impressive win with three goals over the final 12 minutes, including one from Jeffrey Bruma, marking his first international goal.
Robben scored on a nice individual effort in the 82nd, and Huntelaar scored on the turn with a well-placed shot a few minutes later to cap the scoring.
The result keeps the Dutch within six points of leaders Czech Republic, which came from a goal down to knock off Iceland, 2-1, with the winning goal coming in the 61st minute on an own goal from Jon Dadi Boedvarsson.
Turkey toppled Kazakhstan, 3-1, in the other match in Group A to hand Turkey its first win in qualifying thanks to a pair of goals from Burak Yilmaz in the opening 30 minutes.
Group B has a surprising leader as Israel claimed its third win in as many matches by turning back Bosnia-Herzegovina, 3-0, with goals from Gil Vermouth, Omer Damari and Eran Zahavi to move the team one point clear at the top of the standings.
Wales is second after earning a 0-0 draw at group-favorites Belgium, which dropped to fourth in the group after Cyprus notched a 5-0 win over Andorra with a hat trick from Georgios Efrem.
Italy and Croatia remain level atop Group H after the two sides played to a 1-1 draw in Italy on Sunday as Antonio Candreva's 11th-minute opener for the Azzurri was canceled out four minutes later by Croatia's Ivan Perisic.
Norway moved to within one point of the two teams after winning 1-0 at Azerbaijan courtesy of a 25th-minute goal from Haavard Nordtveit.
Bulgaria and Malta both lost their first three games in qualifying, and both earned their first point on Sunday as they played to a 1-1 draw.
