Lyle McCombs ran for 137 yards, Dylan Smith kicked two field goals, and Rhode Island beat Towson 13-7 on Saturday.
Justin Favreau added the only touchdown of the game for the Rams (1-11, 1-7 Colonial Athletic Association), an 8-yard first-quarter grab from quarterback T.J. Anderson that gave Rhode Island a 7-0 lead.
Darius Victor tied it for Towson late in the second with a 6-yard scoring run, but Smith answered with a 44-yard field goal to end the half to give Rhode Island the lead for good.
Connor Frazier threw for 60 yards and ran for 68 to lead Towson (4-8, 2-6). Victor added 54 yards on 21 carries for the Tigers offense, who had just 203 yards of offense and 11 first downs.
