Report: Texas A&M sues Indianapolis Colts for using '12th Man' trademark

The way Texas A&M sees it, there's only one home for the "12th Man" moniker, and the Aggies apparently aim to keep it that way.

According to ESPN's Darren Rovell, the NFL's Colts have been using the term without being given permission by A&M:

Texas A&M's claims to the name go all the way back to 1922. The school also uses 12thman.com as its home page. The school's athletic department released this statement Thursday morning:

The Seattle Seahawks were given permission to use the name in recent years provided they paid royalty fees to Texas A&M. However, the NFL club has since slightly changed the way it uses the name to avoid such payments to the Aggies:
