An MRI confirmed the Kansas City Chiefs' worst fears on Monday.
Jamaal Charles tore his right ACL and will be sidelined for the remainder of the season, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Charles, who led the team in rushing, will have his production replaced by Knile Davis and Charcandrick West.
Charles immediately grabbed his right knee and was helped off the field by team athletic trainers and linebacker Justin Houston.
"It looks more like a torn ACL than anything else," Chiefs coach Andy Reid said after the game. "We'll have an MRI on it tomorrow and we'll just see how that goes."
Saints running back C.J. Spiller offered up his best wishes on Twitter, to which Charles then replied:
