Philadelphia, PA – The Philadelphia Eagles brought in making quarterback from the sidelines.
Harris, who was at one point the Eagles' projected starting right tackle, will undergo back surgery, according to CSNPhilly.com.
Right tackle Winston Justice has been unable to practice following two off- season knee surgeries, which prompted the Birds to sign Harris to a one-year contract on August 2.
Harris quickly made his way to the top of the depth chart and started the Eagles' first preseason game against the Ravens on August 12. But he reportedly hurt his back while blocking on a field goal attempt.
The back injury has kept Harris on the sidelines since. King Dunlap started in Philadelphia's preseason game on Thursday night against the Browns.
Back problems are something that Harris is used to. The Notre Dame product has had three prior back surgeries dating back to his college days.
The Broncos originally drafted Harris in the third round of the 2007 draft. The 6-foot-5, 300-pounder started 34 of 46 games during his time in Denver.
