The Chicago Bears, who are already struggling on special teams, took another hit this week, as NFL Network's Rand Getlin reports that punter Pat O'Donnell has a knee sprain and is being monitored on a day-to-day basis.
O'Donnell was a sixth-round pick in last year's draft and has averaged 47.6 yards per punt this season with a long of 72 yards. He was one of the Bears' busiest players in last week's 26-0 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, punting 10 times for a total of 477 yards.
The injury to O'Donnell should put more heat on Chicago's offense to finish drives with a score. The punter's status for Week 4 versus the Oakland Raiders will be updated throughout the week.
