Cincinnati, OH – The Cincinnati Reds recalled pitcher Todd Redmond from Triple-A Louisville to start the nightcap of Saturday's doubleheader against the Cubs.
Redmond, 27, will make his big league debut. The righty has been called up to the majors three previous times this season but has yet to enter a game.
The Reds acquired Redmond from the Braves on July 14 in exchange for infielder Paul Janish.
Redmond went 6-6 with a 3.58 earned run average for Triple-A Gwinnett this season prior to the trade. He is 2-3 with a 3.41 ERA in five games -- four starts -- with Louisville.
