Redknapp undergoes successful heart surgery
London, England – Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp had successful heart surgery on Wednesday and is expected to be released from the hospital in the next 48 hours.
The club announced on Tuesday that Redknapp would miss Tottenham's Europa League match at Rubin Kazan on Thursday because of a health issue, which was later revealed to be heart surgery.
But Redknapp has come through the operation with no problems and is reported to be in good spirits by the club.
"The club can report that earlier today Harry successfully had two stents inserted to unblock coronary arteries," read a statement on the club's official website. "He is in excellent spirits and due to be discharged from hospital in the next 48 hours."
It is unclear when Redknapp will return to the sidelines for Tottenham, which has moved into fifth place in the Premiership after winning six of its last seven games.
