Boston Red Sox outfielder Ryan Sweeney left Monday's 7-3 win against Detroit after injuring his left hand.

He punched a door after grounding out in the eighth inning and had to leave the game after attempting warm-up throws in the ninth.

He hurt the knuckle on his pinkie and will have X-rays performed to determine the extent of the injury.

Over 63 games with Boston this season, he is batting just .260 with 16 RBI. He went 0-of-4 in Monday's game.
